1. What is the Fortnight Roster View?
The Fortnight View displays the roster across 14 days, allowing users to manage and plan shifts over a full two-week cycle in a single view.
2. How do I access and navigate the Fortnight view?
Go to the Roster Calendar
Select “Fortnight” from the view dropdown
Use Previous / Next to move by 14 days
Use Today to jump to the current fortnight
3. How is the 14-day range calculated?
The range is based on the configured Week Start Day:
Monday start → Mon–Sun + Mon–Sun
Sunday start → Sun–Sat + Sun–Sat
Changing this setting will automatically update the calendar layout and dates.
4. What roster modes are supported?
All existing modes are supported:
Resources (Staff)
Clients
Subsidiary
5. Why do shifts appear in a compact format?
To fit all 14 days on screen:
Shifts are displayed in a compact layout
Only Name + Time are shown
Names may be truncated with ellipsis (…) (first ~7-10 characters visible)
6. How can I view full shift details?
Hover over a shift to see the full details popover
Includes shift ID, time, location, staff/client, service, and status
This behaviour is the same as existing roster views
7. What functionality is available in Fortnight view?
All existing features remain unchanged:
Create, edit, and move shifts (including drag & drop)
Indication Icons on the roster card view
Recurring shifts
Unallocated shifts
Filters and search
Pagination
Permission-based actions
Roster Card Indications- Alert Icon – Indicates that there is a shift conflict or system alert related to the shift.
- Recurrence Icon – Shows that the shift is part of a recurring schedule.
- BS – Indicates that the shift is marked as a Broken Shift.
- OT – Indicates that the shift is marked as an Overtime Shift.
- Arrow Icon – Indicates that the shift continues into the next day.
8. How are multiple shifts and limited space handled?
Shifts stack within the same day
Horizontal scrolling may be available on smaller screens
9. Are colours, permissions, and behaviours consistent?
Yes:
Shift colours and legends remain consistent
User permissions and access controls are unchanged
Behaviour matches existing Day/Week views
10. Does this replace existing views?
No.
The Fortnight view is an additional option. Existing views (Day, Week, Month) remain unchanged.
11. What is the main benefit of using Fortnight view?
Provides visibility across a full 2-week cycle
Reduces switching between weekly views
Improves planning for rostering and payroll alignment
