This FAQ explains how Non-Billable Shifts behave on Staff Mobile following the latest enhancements.
1. How are Non-Billable shifts displayed on Staff Mobile?
The card view has been updated to display:
Non-Billable Types are now displayed on the shift list view
Staff can see the Not billable shift Description on the card view if added.
If a new Non-Billable type is created in the backend, the mobile card reflects it automatically.
2. What actions can staff perform on Non-Billable shifts?
Staff can:
Accept / Reject
Clock In
Clock Out
Based on backend approval:
Complete
Approved
Paid Cancellation
Cancelled
All statuses synchronise with Sygnal Web.
Push and in-app notifications behave the same as normal shifts.
3. What changes were made to Clock Out for Notes?
Step 1 – Staff Notes
During Clock Out:
Staff can add Staff Notes.
Notes are saved against the Shift ID.
Category is recorded as “Staff Note.”
It is recorded under the Staff Profile in Sygnal Web.
Linked to the relevant Shift ID.
Staff users:
Can view only Staff Notes.
Notes are filtered by Shift ID.
4. What is shown in the Shift Amendment screen on Mobile?
Step 2 – Shift Amendment
Can request an amendment of the Not billable shift time created
No client information is displayed in the header.
Only relevant shift-level data is shown.
Behaviour aligns with Non-Billable structure.
5. What is shown in the Expenses screen on Mobile?
Step 3 – Shift Expenses:
Can request an Shfit expenses through the not billable clock out flow
Staff can request multiple expenses with the reference as an attachment
6. What is shown in the KM Request screen on Mobile?
Step 4 – KM Request
Can view the KM budget for the non-billable shift if defined in the shift
Or staff can request a KM Budget request for the claiming process from the mobile.
7. Do notifications work for Non-Billable shifts?
Yes.
Upon assignment:
Push notifications
In-app notifications
work exactly the same as standard normal shifts.
